Beth Mortenson has enjoyed a varied life -- from senior executive of a publicly-held health care corporation to award-winning artist in the Texas Hill Country. Originally a native of Massachusetts, Beth has lived and worked in such diverse places as Nevada, Oklahoma, Wyoming and with now over 30 years in Texas, with stints on the Texas Gulf Coast, Texas Hill Country and now North Texas.
Skills & Experience
Beth is an accomplished and awarded artist, having previously served as a Texas Master Gardener with special certifications in rainwater harvesting, plant propagation, irrigation and other related specialties. She has held a Texas license as a certified irrigator as well.
She volunteered countless hours in a local Hill Country garden that donated thousands of pounds of fresh vegetables to a local food bank.
She is currently a certified Texas Master Naturalist, has completed training as a nature Interpreter as well and serves as a volunteer at the Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary.
Also a passionate chef, Beth's culinary works and recipes regularly win accolades on various 'foodie' blog sites. She holds a Texas license as an approved food handler.

Beth had the opportunity to return to higher education as an adult and made the most of the learning opportunity, earning her bachelor's degree in political science with honors in 2005. Prior to this, she attended Eastern Massachusetts University and Collin College after earning her diploma from a public high school in New Bedford, Massachusetts.
