Blackland Prairie

I painted "Blackland Prairie" en plein air at the Heard Wildlife Sanctuary in McKinney, TX. This watercolor won first place in the annual McKinney Plein Air Contest in 2022. The deep rich layering of watercolor gives this painting a luminescence that is unusual for watercolor medium.  When painting outside, I love to work with the tools in my environment.  Much of this painting was created using sticks as my paintbrush.  Professionally framed.
